Ammi-flowers is a floristry business started in the west of England last year, I was approached by the owner to provide a website to accompany the enterprise.

The first step was to find out what role the web was expected to play in the new business. Having established a basic set of requirements, hosting was arranged and the approriate domain name provisioned.

The site was designed in a few short sessions, initially sketching-out a sitemap to ensure the information was logically arranged and some prototypes to define page layouts using good old pencil and paper

Key features of the site were:

  • Simple and Modern design
  • Easy to maintain, quick to update
  • A gallery to showcase sample products
  • Map to help customers find the shop

With a business of this kind, good imagery was vital and photographs were taken to illustrate the style of products on offer to customers.

The site launch was co-ordinated with that of the business and has since received positive feedback from customers.

Since it’s launch the site has expanded to publicise a series of training courses and a further enhancement has recently been deployed to replace the original layouts to give the site a neater look with a fixed width style.
